Message from the Assessor regarding Renters Rebate Program

To all renters that have applied for the State Renter Program: Please be aware that the Office of Policy and Management, State of Connecticut’s approved budget for the renter rebate program is insufficient to fully pay all of the approved applications that they have received. Therefore, all renters rebate checks this year will be reduced by 7%. All checks are scheduled to be mailed on October 25, 2019. If there is any change in their policy, you will be notified. ATTENTION: Mosquito Tested Positive for EEE in Middlefield — PSHD Encourages Residents to take Precautions

The State of Connecticut has announced that a mosquito trapped in Middlefield has tested positive for Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE).  The Plainville Southington Health District (PSHD) encourages residents to protect themselves and their children by taking personal precautions to prevent mosquito bites when outside from dusk to dawn, when mosquitoes are most active. “The mosquito that tested positive was located at the Durham Meadow test station in Middlefield which borders Durham”, according to Edward Bailey, the First Selectman of Middlefield. “Citizens of Middlefield, Rockfall, Durham and all our surrounding Towns should follow the personal protective measures recommended by our […]
