Temporary Pistol Permit Apply To receive a temporary pistol permit, you must apply in the town in which you reside.  If you would like to apply, please email your request to police@middlefieldct.org, or call 860.349.7114, and a packet will be sent out to you.  You MUST request a packet BEFORE getting fingerprinted.  Fingerprints are obtained only through the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection (DESPP) in Middletown.  They are scheduling appointments via Eventbrite – click  HERE. Veterans Exemption Program

The Assessor’s Office is accepting applications for the Veterans Exemption Benefit programs until October 1, 2020. Proof of income including Social Security form #1099, and a copy of your 2019 Federal Tax Return, if one was filed. Otherwise, all forms of income, i.e., pension, dividend, & interest statements, etc., must be provided. The maximum income for a married couple is $63,100, and for a single person is $55,000. Covid-19 – Face Masks Requirement Information

An important message concerning the CORONAVIRUS from First Selectman Edward Bailey and Emergency Management Director, Robert Poturnicki. Governor Lamont has issued Executive Order 7BB which requires everyone to use face masks in public settings to reduce the spread of COVID-19. This Spring’s DEA Prescription Drug Take Back Day that was scheduled for April 25th has been postponed. Durham Middlefield Local Wellness Coalition and Durham Middlefield Youth & Family Services wants to encourage the residents of Durham and Middlefield to take this time to dispose of medications safely and properly at home. Unused and expired medications should be mixed with an unpalatable substance such as dirt, cat litter or used coffee grounds.
