STATE POLICE URGE VIGILANCE

Notice from our Resident Troopers:

STATE POLICE URGE VIGILANCE

Middlefield, Rockfall, and Durham are experiencing an increase in vehicle break-ins and thefts.  This ongoing problem has taken a dramatic spike in recent months.  Nearby towns are also experiencing similar thefts and break-ins.

The vehicles targeted are unlocked, and the valuable property left inside is taken.  The stolen vehicles are left unlocked with the keys inside.  The majority of the suspects target vehicles during the overnight hours.

The Resident State Troopers are asking everyone to lock your vehicles, and hide or remove all valuables.

Any suspicious people, cars, and activity should be reported to the police.  Middlefield-Rockfall residents can call 860-349-9685; Durham can call 860-349-2325.  Residents can also call the State Police Barracks, Troop F, at 860-399-2100 or 1-800-256-5761.

Help us stop these preventable “Crimes of Opportunity.”  Don’t be a victim!
