Meals on Wheels are provided by the Community Renewal Team, Inc.
It is the Community Action Agency for Middlesex and Hartford Counties, and is the largest non-profit provider of human services in Connecticut.
Meals on Wheels help support the independence and well-being of homebound seniors by providing as many as 14 meals per week.
Hot, nutritious lunches are delivered at mid-day, along with cold suppers (if desired). Weekend meals are delivered chilled on Fridays.
Therapeutic diets and modifications are available, if ordered by a doctor or qualified health professional. Delivery personnel ensure that the client is at home, and is feeling well enough to answer the door.
A suggested donation of $2.00 per meal is requested to help cover the cost of the meals, however no one is denied a meal if unable to pay.
