Beseck Lake Drawdown Notice
Beseck Lake Drawdown
The 2025-2026 Beseck Lake drawdown will be starting soon. Every year the Lake alternates between a 3-foot or 6-foot drawdown. This year the drawdown will be a six-foot drawdown. This gives shore residents an opportunity to make dock and lake wall repairs, clean lakebed areas and if permitted to do new work connected with the shore lakebed area.
NOTE: access to the water at the state boat ramp can become more limited by November 1, 2025.
Per CT DEEP: The drawdown will commence on or near October 1, 2025. After the 6 ft. depth is achieved, it will be maintained until January 31, 2026, when the water level will be raised to a 3 ft. drawdown. This 3 ft. level will be maintained until March 1, 2026 and then be restored to the normal surface water elevation by early April 2026. Please note: With any drawdown and refill period, there is a chance the desired level and timing of refill may not be achieved within the anticipated timeframe due to weather conditions or other uncontrollable events.
